I met two monks in Bílina. They had a route from the monastery in Pilsen to Děčín. They navigated with a printed map, but somehow couldn't get their bearings. I showed them the direction and of course we exchanged a few words. It is very rare to meet a true servant of God these days. After some time, this painting was created, as a monument about a monk who lives in the real world and at the same time beyond our understanding.
For painting, I use a canvas with a proportional composition of cotton and synthetics. I usually use a three to four layer technique. After it has completely dried, I glue the canvas to the panel using a special transparent double-sided adhesive film. As a final point, varnished with a protective varnish.
Oil painting on canvas pasted on a 34 x 42 cm panel.
The year 2021.
Treated with final varnish.
